Threshing with our feet

This is a threshing machine which we work by stepping on. We asked "What is the name of this machine?" A man said, “I don’t know the name.I used to call this machine 'ashibumi(stepping on)' ." At once we worked 'ashibum' and thresh. Each of us lined up with a sheaf of rice in our hand."We want to work the machine quickly!" We worked a revolution part with wire stepping on. What Attsu kept in mindwas "with a constant speed."
We pushed our work actively on a fine autumn day. You can see the paddy fields where we growed rice plants. They looked brown because we didn’t scatter straws. After we removed hulls, we sieved. Thus we removed straw wastes. We came to take our share with the work naturally. Ayappe said,"I became excited." They was unfastening hulls which they couldn't had removed with a threshing machine.
