How many NGOs do you work with?
We work with about 20 NGOs that we have in our network, but more than that is CBOs
CBO(community based organizations) who are also know by others as unorganized because they are neither registered with the government or recognized officially. But in terms of local activities, they are the real people. They are the stakeholders in the community so we work with the small CBOs. In one village there may be five CBOs.
They may be very small self-help groups. A group of women trying to get some income from a kitchen garden. Then we use these women because they are already motivated in their own way. So we use their motivation for other work and activities. That is how we try to bank on them. Because our rule is, whenever we go to a community, we have to use someone from the community. We try our best not to be the main people doing the training or doing some activity.
