We have 7 core staff. In terms of project activities and volunteers we have about 20 people spread out.
Why has EE been primarily science related?
This is very simple, because EE started out as biological subject. The focus was biology, botany, zoology, and all this. So because of that, the mindset is that it has to be a scientific subject and not humanities or other art related subjects. Now things are changing a little. There is a debate about whether environment should be its own subject or whether is should be integrated wholistically into all subjects. I think it should be integrated.
EE isn't a priortity for teachers because EE is relatively a new subject. Teachers are not necessarily trained as teachers. They are teaching because they have educational qualifications. They get jobs teaching not necessarily because they are qualified as teachers.
Food Security
We are working with issues of food security with the people.
