Creating Sustainable Communities: Discussion with Global Partners

World School Network (WSN), a division of ECOPLUS (a registered NPO in Japan), is hosting its International Symposium "Creating Sustainable Communities: Discussion with Global Partners" on February 14th and 15th at the National Olympics Memorial Youth Center, Tokyo, Japan.

WSN participant group, Terra Sancta School's Environment Club from Bethlehem
Experiential based environmental learning programs are carried out worldwide. WSN has fostered connecting such experiences via the Internet to create environmental education with a global perspective. On this occasion, WSN invites educators from their respective fields in various countries to discuss collaborative programs and to enhance their continuous and deeper relationships.

On Feb. 14th young Japanese, Israeli and Palestinian people from WSN participant groups will gather to present and discuss their various local activities. Adults will observe children's debate and share additional opinions. On Feb. 15th educators from India, Mexico, in addition to an outdoor and environmental education scholar from the U.K., will discuss educational programs which aim to create sustainable communities and formulate continuous joint learning projects.

Presentations on the 14th will offer a variety of ideas about experiential, environmental learning that may be of interest to youth group organizers, school teachers, parents and guardians.

The 15th will be a precious opportunity to discuss sustainable society from an international perspective. Please feel free to participate.

  • In 2004, ECOPLUS plans a series of events with guest lecturers from various countries. In addition to Dr Robbie Nicol, speakers active in the fields will join us from Europe and Australia. Please watch our activities closely.
