Description
1) Put in a pot of water.
2) Heat until water boils.
3) Boil for 3-4 minutes. (Test frequently and
4) Strain water and sprinkle salt on the outside of the beans.

Worth Taking Note
If you harvest black beans early they are still green on the inside. Harvest the beans early and you have delicious eda mame. If you wait a bit longer the skin will turn black.


How was it?
The beans are nice and fat, almost twice the size of regular eda mame. They make a delicious, full tasting eda mame.


Hyogo Prefecture
Mountainous central Hyogo Prefecture is one of the top growers of black beans. They have come up with several ways of making the beans into delicious dishes. Eda mame is one of them.
