Worth Taking Note
This is the freshest fish I've ever had. As you take the life of the shrimp right before and while eating, this shrimp really makes you realize that what we eat is the life of other living creatures. It is said that the fish of Seto Inland Sea is delicious because of the fast ocean currents. "Fish are forced to exercise, unlike many fish in the open ocean. In the open ocean only the top currents are strong. Fish living underneath don't have to work as hard as those in Seto," says a local fisherman.


How was it?
The shrimp tail was still moving as I put the shrimp in my mouth...! This was definitely a first for me. Fresh, chewey, and shrimpy is the best way I can describe it.


Okayama Prefecture
Along the Seto Inland Sea fishing has been a community stronghold, both financially and socially. Local fish markets line the coast and it is here where much of the fish of the region is sold. Unfortunately, fishermen speak of a reduction in fish catches due to the pollution of the Seto Inland Sea.
