Recipe
Boil slices of pumpkin, cut okra and whole string beans in soy sauce, sake, mirin (Japanese vinegar) and sugar.

Cook mackerel pike in the oven until cooked through to the center and the skin is crisp and slightly brown.

How was it?
The pumpkin is so soft it melts in the mouth! The okra is slightly sticky which they say is good for the body. You can't beat the taste of fresh fish in season.

What is local cooking in Tokyo? I'm sure there is some but I had a hard time searching because people in Tokyo come from all over Japan and all over the world.
With all these people and different ideas about cooking the city is bound to be a place full of food and cooking wisdom.
